When I visited one of my friend's blog I saw her post about the tambis fruit or malay apple it reminds me of my childhood. When I was a kid we used to have a tambis tree in our yard a place where I could hide from my mom without even getting hungry because I could always eat some of the fruits from the tambis tree.
Tambis is a small, red (rose) round fruit of about three cm wide. It is known as a water apple because it is a rather watery fruit. It is a common fruit in Southeast Asia. It is one of the favorites of children. Tambis fruit is one of my favorite even now. I really enjoy eating these fruits with salt. How I wish I could find some of this type of fruit here in the US cause I really miss eating it.
