When people are young they never think about things such us term life insurance, retirement and many other things that they will need later in life. Like my husband he is a senior citizen already and he says he never thought about such things when he was younger. I wholeheartedly agree. Term life insurance is a powerful way to leverage a small amount of money for a large amount of protection. Make sure you shop around though--look at sites like SelectQuote.com and IntelliQuote, which offer quotes from all major insurance companies.
